I’ll eat some breakfast, then change the world!

This quote serves as a reminder that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and it should not be skipped no matter what you have to do during the day. Trust me, I know most people are tempted to skip it. And I can understand why – often enough it is because they don’t have time or they just aren’t morning people and are not hungry early in the morning. In my family breakfast is the most problematic meal as far as ideas and time for it is concerned. But still we try our best not to overlook it. There is no doubt having breakfast can only be beneficial to your body. By doing so, you improve your metabolism, boost your immune system, enhance your mood and help maintain or lose weight. As significant as eating breakfast can be, WHAT you eat also counts.

Here’s my idea for a healthy nutritious breakfast, which is also not that hard to make. This is what I had for breakfast this morning:

It consists of:

  • Hummus spread on Dark rye bread
  • Fresh cucumber cuts
  • A slice of white brine cheese
  • A few slices of a peeled apple
  • 150-200 gr of full-fat yoghurt

As you may or may not notice, I am kind of interested in nutrition, but I am not obsessed with healthy food and do not go to extreme lengths - I eat full-fat yoghurt, and salty white cheese and so on. Still, this breakfast can be considered a fresh, healthy enough start of the day which will give you essential nutrients. Some of the ingredients in this breakfast arrangement can be skipped or replaced to your liking.

Eat breakfast like kings to start your day the right way!

Jane the Virgin

Jane the Virgin took me by surprise! I was looking for some series to watch as a time-killer and expected it to be soapy, girly and moony and I was okay with that. However, it turned out, there is a lot more to this one under its pinky, soapy surface.

The comedy-drama tv series aired on 13 October 2014 on CW’s network. With its absurd plot strings, romantic touch, crime references and well-presented humour, it made me love every minute of it. Fresh, funny, charming, genial, playfull and intriguing do not even begin to describe it.

Gina Rodriguez, playing Jane Villanueva, has been referred to as the breakout star of this fall. And I think she is quite talented, magnetic, likeable and so right for the role.

While, the show is obviously targeted at the female part of the audience, I am not sure it wouldn’t be appreciated by men too.

"Jane the virgin”, by all means, has appeal in its diversity, so if you haven’t seen it yet, you should!

WWHD?... or "What whould Harvey do?"

This is not another TV series review. It’s more like a recommendation, because you can definitely feel that this one is to my liking.

Harvey Specter – one of the main characters on Usanetwork’s “Suits”. He is a corporate lawyer – smart, handsome, rich, confident to the point of cockiness and he always wins. Every man wants to be like him. Every women wants to become a man and be like him.

So, I discovered this TV-series “Suits” some time ago and when I started watching it I wondered how on earth I had missed it. It is definitely one of the best shows I’ve seen so far. Brilliant, fresh, thrilling, thought-provoking, inspiring, sometimes humorous…yes, it is just that GOOD. No doubt it deserves the high ratings in IMDB – 8.8 (Suits on IMDB) and rottentomatoes – 100% from the critics and 94% from the audience (Suits on rottentomatoes).

The cast consists of not so familiar faces, such as:

Gabriel Macht

Patrick J. Adams

Rick Hoffman

Meghan Markle

They are actually quite likeable and present some great acting, especially Rick Hoffman (who in the series is such a character, lol).

So, this show hooks you up with the first episode, entertains you, moves you and keeps you interested throughout all the episodes of the next 4 seasons. Season 5 is expected to air in 2015 with no certain release date and I just can’t wait to see what they have prepared.

So, have you watched “Suits”?
Yes?... I know you liked it! ;)
